Join the Movement: Radio Rubbish Takes on Trump in ‘Maga,Maga!’

Radio Rubbish takes a stand against controversial political figure, Donald Trump, with their latest release, ‘MAGA MAGA!’. The punk duo, comprised of Sir Sidney Squacko and Lord Jonny Macko, have made it their mission to unite fellow punk rockers around the globe to denounce the loudmouthed leader before he assumes the Presidency in the upcoming November election.

The band fears that with Trump in office, his first course of action will be to place an international ban on the punk genre. To combat this potential threat, Radio Rubbish has called for all punks to use the hashtag ‘MAGA MAGA!’ and include lyrics from classic punk songs that seem to perfectly describe the former President. Those who participate will have the chance to win an American-style burger and have their name featured on the album sleeve of Radio Rubbish’s upcoming release, set to debut this Christmas.

Originating from the West Country and Essex, Sir Sidney Squacko and Lord Jonny Macko bring a rebellious, genre-defying sound to the stage, incorporating elements of ska, reggae, house, post-punk and funk into their music. The duo spends their time sailing aboard their punk rock pirate radio ship, HMS Radio Rubbish, which can be heard 24/7 and 365 days a year on their website. Despite its lack of seaworthiness, the ship serves as a broadcasting hub for the band’s revolutionary music and message. ‘MAGA MAGA!’ is a call to action, reminiscent of iconic punk anthems such as The Pistols’ ‘God Save The Queen’ and The Beat’s ‘Stand Down Margaret’. The song’s powerful lyrics speak to the current state of political affairs and serve as a reminder of the fearless, bold messaging that once defined the punk genre.

In today’s world, where a football team in North London can sport the name ‘Holiday in Cambodia’ on their jerseys, it is clear that the rebellious spirit of punk has been watered down and lost. Radio Rubbish implores all punk enthusiasts to join their cause, and proudly proclaim ‘MAGA MAGA! THE GUY’S GONE GAGA!’ from rooftops and windows. Let us come together to disrupt the world and uphold the true essence of punk rock.
